I’m headed up to Maine for the long weekend to visit with my parents and relax a bit. I’ll have my iBook with me, so I’ll try to update while I’m there. I didn’t think to pack my camera, so either there will be no pictures, or I’ll have to stop at the apartment instead of leaving straight from work. We shall see. I’m leaning towards the first, since I usually don’t take the time for photography when I’m relaxing anyways. Taking pictures of the things I’m enjoying takes away from the time I could be just enjoying them.

In exciting news: when I return, I will have a shiny pre-owned PowerBook waiting for me! It should be fast enough to do everything that Navi - my cheap and bulky eMachines desktop - can do, except that it can be cute and small and a Mac while doing it. Oh, and it can’t play PC games, so no Sims or SimCity for me (not that I’m all that broken up about either one - they’re not much more than timesinks and I always feel like I could be using my time better when I play them). But it can play WoW, and NetHack, and Uplink, and that should be enough for me.

My mother says that she picked up some yarns at Goodwill for me, so I’m excited to see what she found. I’m also (finally!) getting the snow tires off our car. It would have been done sooner but I left the all-seasons in Maine the last time I saw my parents, and forgot to retrieve them when we were there in March.

I’ve been feeling pretty down this week, so I’m hoping that a weekend away will help my spirits. Wish me luck.
