(or, How I spent July 4th, 2007)

Slept until almost 9 in the morning (which is extremely late for me, even on a day off). Proceeded to feel mildly guilty about it, mostly because too many late mornings throws off my body clock and leaves me tired when I have to wake up at 6 (most mornings).

Flipped the futon mattress for the first time in ages, and discovered that it was very reluctant to reshape itself. It seems to be okay now, but there were a few hours where there was a large hump in the mattress, right at the small of my back.

Played lots of video games. Curled up on the futon with my DS and a book for most of the morning. Felt sorry for myself. Forced myself to snap out of it, and managed to feel better after some WarioWare. It’s amazing how much good just a little bit of movement can do when you’re lacking energy.

Vacuumed, and did a few small loads of laundry. My productivity for the day.

Late lunch at Panera with my husband. Apple chips + salad + apple vinaigrette = genius.

Several hours of DDR. My legs ache, but it’s a good ache. And somehow after all that, the music I have stuck in my head is from WarioWare dancing, instead. What’s up with that?

Watched Dark City for the first time, and was left with lots of questions (spoiler ahead!). Like, where do they get the food to feed people? (The answer seems to be “They make it out of thin air” which is a little bit too convenient for me. These beings can ignore physics? Okay, whatever.) Also, now that the strangers are gone and John is controlling the city, what happens when he dies? The city is SCREWED! Also it means he has to play God for the rest of his life, if for no other reason than the aforementioned food problem.

All in all, it was a nice day, except for the morning blahs. And the best part is that it’s the weekend again in two days!
